I know I've not been very active on this site. I'm sorry to have to share bad news, now. Brady (aka Foofie) has been diagnosed with lymphosarcoma. The vet said we had two choices. Chemo to extend his life for 12 months, or prednisone to help him feel better for three months. We opted for prednisone. I want his last months to be happy and will not extend his life just to have him around for another few months. The prednisone is working well, so far. His appetite is back and he has his energy back.
Now, we just smother him with as much love as we can and make sure he's happier than he's ever been.

I am so sorry to hear this news. I too have had to make a choice such as yours after hearing our beloved dog had cancer.
We went through the same thing last year about this time. Our dog, Groucho Too, had a "bleed out" and they did surgery to remove his spleen just before Thanksgiving. The biopsy came back "cancer" and the vet said he would have about three months. We made the best of the three months and he was happy and active most of the time. Toward the end, he was having another bleed out so we had him laid to rest. I just buried his ashes in our garden last month. A great time for making memories with a great dog.
You are a kind and loving doodle owner. You chose the hardest for you but the kindest for Brady. I know you will be able to add to all the good memories you have of Brady. God bless you all.
Sounds like the best thing to do. Sorry for your loss.

Every day filled with love for Brady will be special for both of you.
I'm so so sorry but hope you have the happiest time together. Hugs to you and Brady.
