Update" Say it ain't so, no more weather events!

Good grief, more miserable weather headed our way.  We braced for the earthquake and the hurricane the past week.  And lo and behold here we go again.  It has been raining steadily since ......I dunno, sometime Monday.  By early morning at my home we have had at least 9 inches of rain, and then it really started to rain while I've been at work today.  They are closing roads, updating flooding predictions and it's not looking good.  I don't want to look like a sissy but I think I'm getting out of Dodge and headed home early today!  Wishing everyone a safe weather event again...... sigh

We are so lucky.  No issues where I live, but as I like to call them, the Flatlands below have had a terrible hand dealt to them.  I have been home since Wednesday afternoon, but since I work in downtown Harrisburg, Monday isn't looking like it will be any fun.  Some photos for those that are interested.

The filth and contamination is starting to come up and downstream.  the flood of 72 is clear in my mind........we will not suddenly be ok after this.  :(  It is a sad day for central penna.

We live up in the mountain and things are fine, no issues.  There are 110 state roads closed, many more local roads.  When I got up for work today and read the list of road closures and the updated river crest, I went back to bed, as my office is in downtown Harrisburg, there was no way I was going to get stranded there!  They closed all the state offices shortly after I went back to bed.  It is really a shame to see all the pics.  I remember the flood of 1972 and they are now worried this could top that...unimaginable.

It has been pouring for days here too.  There was nowhere for the dogs to potty this morning that wasn't underwater.  Enough! Hope you're home safe and sound.

Can't wait for official fall. This has been some summer! Hope everyone stays dry and well. We only had light rain today after yesterdays deluge and more to come.

I got caught in it today and it took me 5 hours to go 35 miles. Roads closed everywhere, including 83, and just when I thought I was almost home, another road out. Long day and more rain expected through the weekends.

Here's hoping you come through safe and dry. We had almost two full weeks of rain, drizzle, fog and cold temps for the first two weeks of Aug, it does tend to wear you down after awhile.
