Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

More often than not, I win our fights over anything and everything, and believe me we are quite passionate when it comes to arguing.  One major battle I have lost at present, however, is the Milton in the bed.  Despite my recent post when countless readers told us to give in and let Milt up, Jeff still bluntly refuses.  He is resolute that our doodle is just too much of a dirty dog to be a cuddle bunny in bed.

This has left me with no other option than to join Milt down in his lair.  Recently, I have taken to squeezing in next to the Milt in the early morning hours for a little "Momma and Me" time.

Momma and her boy

Truthfully, I pity Jeff because he's the one missing out, not us.

My husband was exactly the same way. Notice I say "WAS". Can you guess which of the two of us was the first put Duncan in the bed with us?? :)

Sounds like Jeff is softening! ;o)

Kona comes on the bed to say good night. When we turn off the lights, he gets off. In the morning we can't get him to come back up because he is expecting a run no later than 6:15 am.

I love the pictures! Jeff now says when Milt is one we might be able to bring him up for post-wake up snuggle time... I guess this is when he might be done chewing. I will keep you posted! Just to let all of you know, I am super jealous of your bedtime bonding!!

LOL, Nina. What a picture. It's kind of funny since we all nag about our dogs hogging the bed, yet, we all love it. I get annoyed when Monty sleeps on our bed at night (usually when it's windy or stormy outside), and is running in his dream kicking my butt like crazy. Yet, I don't have the heart to wake him up and ask him to move. At times when my DH gets up at night to go to bathroom, in comes Monty and makes himself all cozy on my DH's pillow. The we try to slide him aside so that DH can get back in the bed. It's a lot of work moving 85lbs of a log. He just pretends he's asleep, stinker. And little Auggie likes to snuggle, so when he gets on the bed in the morning, he sleeps pushed against my legs with his head on my feet so that I can't move. Love it!

That is way tooooo cute!  Libby sleeps in her crate until five in the morning.  Then the both of us can't wait to bring her in and she loves it and snuggles right in and goes back to sleep like we are not even in the bed!  Go figure:)

Love the photos! Too cute! I would love to have the boyz on the bed with me at night - and some day when they stop trying to eat everything in sight and I no longer fear waking up to wonder where the bedding went they might just get to join me.

I put a dark colored inexpensive blanket over my white comforter to keep it clean and have the doodles snuggle. Would that work for Jeff?

Hmm, it could possibly be that Jeff is concerned that something like this might happen if Milt is allowed up in the bed.  This is Harlow's favorite place to sleep with her daddy.

Too funny!! Why not put your DH in the crate and you and Milt take the bed?? Try that on for size!!

This is hilarious...Poor Milt is looking like "hey mom it's to early to snuggle, I'm still tired"
