Well, Rua decided that she was going to climb the stairs yesterday. DH didn't think that would happen yet, but, where there is a well, there is a way. It is really cute watching her short little legs take her from stair to stair. The top stair (bringing her to the main level of a ranch) is wood, so she slipped and slided just a bit.

Last night she went to her crate at around 10PM for the night...not a peep out of her when she went down (tired her out first). I got up at 5AM, and she finally stirred. So, second night home, she slept the entire night. What an incredible puppy.

Today, she mastered going DOWN the stairs. A bit harder...she tumbled over a few as she was learning, but finally figured them out.

Worked a little on clicker training today. Mostly getting an associate between the click and getting a treat. We then tried "sit" for a handful of times. Also, we working on "fetching" a small tennis ball, bringing it back, and dropping it. When she was in the zone, she did it 4 times in a row. What a good girl.

I am trying to get her used to her Halloween costume...so I have put it on her twice so far. But both times when she WASN'T tired. Next time, I will wait until she is all tuckered out. She is so darn cute.

We played outside quite a bit today and she played with our little neighbor boy Jonathon (her first play friend). She was QUITE excited to meet him, but finally after a while, she settled down and we ran and tossed the ball in the back yard. Don't have a fenced in yard, but she doesn't go very far very fast.

I don't want to jinx it, but Rua has not had an accident in the house. I watch her like a hawk if she isn't her kennel or crate. I use the crate for sleeping and the travel kennel to confine her in the room we are in if we are eating or I am cooking or I need to do something. She has two different sniffing modes...one I recognize now as "picking up the scent of _____" fill in the blank (toy, food, person) and the "I need to potty" mode.

Tomorrow will be a challenge, DH and I will both be off to work at 7:30 AM. My DH will come home at 10:30, I'll come home at 12:30 and then come home early for the day. I can work part of the each day from home if I need to. In a month or so, she'll be able to make it 1/2 a day, so we can go to alternating coming home for lunch.

Stay 'tooned!

She is such a sweet little girl and sooooo cute. Halloween is a month away and there is a good chance that dress might not fit her...ha ha. You will be amazed at how quickly they grow and weekly too! I recently looked back at my photos of Gracie Doodle and each week she was bigger!
