The Dreaded Cookie Party!

[Laurie, Fudge, and Vern]

This is Fudge checking in this week. My mom is having a cookie party this weekend and she has been doing nothing but cleaning and baking. We are fed up! Vern wasn't here last year for the last cookie party, so he doesn't know what it is all about yet. She says she loves this party, but she yells a lot the week before. Vern is pretty messy, so she seems even grumpier this year. We are bored, so we have been making our own fun and today, we figured out how to knock the gate (well, is it just a plastic lid) down so we could run down the basement steps and chase the cat. We didn't know we tracked mud everywhere until mom yelled, "Fudge and Vern, get up here right now!" and then she said some bad words when she saw the mud. After that, she said we were taking a break and going for a walk, but first she had to mail a doodle card all the way to The Netherlands and we had to go to the post office. Right before she went in, she told us that maybe she should pretend she thought it said Doodle exchange and mail us to The Netherlands. When she came out though, she was smiling and said they didn't have a box big enough for Vern. Vern started kissing her and mom kept laughing and said, "Why do I love you guys so much?"

Sasha - sorry, I didn't sign my last note but mom was coming and I had to get off the puter. It was Clifford that is going to try to share his cookies - if I can keep some away from his foster brother. I'm pretty sure my dad eats them really fast and puts some in the freezer, he knows I can't get that open yet! I hope my mom makes cookies soon, I'm really hungry for them all of a sudden!

Sasha, I haven't had any of my mom's bestest cookies, dad eats them and doesn't share but my mom makes me some with applesauce, oatmeal, peanut butter and maybe a banana and they taste pretty scrumptuous! I have to share them with my foster brother and my grandma's little dog so I hardly get any but I could try to share them next time mom makes them. I'd hate for you to not know what cookies taste like! I'm still hoping to snag one of my dad's, he gets all different kinds.

Hey Nancie, we're in Newfoundland, not even close! :>) I would be more than delighted if someone mailed me a couple of doodles though. I know what you guys mean about making your own fun, Quincy just found out how much fun it is to chew up the cardboard rolls from the wrapping paper and I think he was snooping to see if he could find his christmas presents. If he's not careful he could end up on the naughty list. Did your mom at least make some doodle cookies?

Hey Fudge....it's great to hear from you! Your Mom sounds just like our Mom did the day before "Thanksgiving"...we're not sure just what that means. Mom sure wasn't giving thanks for us that day. She was cooking and cleaning and not spending any time with us. There was no cuddle time...NONE AT ALL! We kept trying to get her to play with us while she was standing in the kitchen. We brought her ALL of our toys, we rubbed against her like a kitty (that usually works), we sat and stared at her....NOPE nothing from Mom. It was like we were invisible....just cook, cook, cook. We didn't like it one bit either, Fudge. We have a gate too, and we could probably knock it down if we tried. Murph is afraid of gates ever since the one in the bathroom fell down "by accident" and made a loud noise, so we don't go near them anymore. After my Mom read your post, she kind of "freaked out". She said some bad words about not getting our XMAS cards until Monday because Murphy didn't "cooperate" during the picture taking. Trust me, that whole XMAS card picture scene wasn't pretty with my brother. She finally got what she thought was going to be a good picture, and then when she looked at it in the computer she saw that Murph didn't have his "legs together"...she said something about "obscene". I have no idea what that means either, but she spent hours trying to Photoshop out Murph's "privates". Lots of bad words during that. It didn't work. When she was done she said he looked like some kind of "freak Doodle" (Moms, can't live with them...can't live without them). So there will be no pictures of Murph and me together on the XMAS card. Nope two separate pictures. Murph's picture is a "head shot"....I'm sure you can guess why. We wouldn't wear the stupid XMAS Santa hat either, so she had to Photoshop that too. More bad words. So, Fudge, we really do understand. It's sure good to know that our Moms really love us no matter what though, don't you think. Guinness
