Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Lots of times here on DoodleKisses, I see members ask if they should stop crating their dogs at night. Many of those times, the dog is happy in the crate and it is the human who misses the doggie snuggling at night. Take my word for it, let sleeping dogs lie IN their crates.
In the summer, Fudge and Vern get too hot on any bed and prefer to sleep on the cold, hard floor. They might start up here on our bed for a little bit, but usually when my husband comes to bed, they want down and oh, how I wish some nights we could walk out to the foyer and say “crate” and in they would go. Sure, I could start now, but I don’t have the heart.
The problem is once my husband makes the announcement “last call” Vern usually gets a second wind and likes to include us in the revelry.
So, my husband has two choices every night.
1) Try to squeeze his way into bed between these two and hope Vern stays asleep long enough for him to fall into a deep sleep so his wife can handle the nighttime activities.
2) Wake Vern and Fudge up and chance experiencing some of this:
Since he usually goes with option one, what I wouldn’t give for two dogs that love their crate and long to sleep in there at night…..ALL NIGHT, EVERY NIGHT. Instead, we play musical beds almost every night and this morning I ended up with Vern and Fudge on our bed. Luckily, for me the 100 pound dog chose my side for his resting point and that meant I slept the remainder of the morning in a position that I have not been in since gymnastics camp at age nine. I just regained the feeling in my legs at lunchtime.

Jennifer, How true :)
Donna, Thank goodness for Karen. I think that scramble game is wreaking havoc on my brain. I missed your "clue".
It seems another activity may have also come up as a clue in you scramble game, I'm sure that looked interesting on the front page as well. I don't know if this is going to make me any new friends. LOL
Nancy, I love you picture :)
Donna, I think you are right about growing to twice their size in bed. Imagine how that looks on the front page :)
