DH volunteered to pick up Quincy from Day Camp today, that was nice. He is nice and on the way home he stopped and bought the ingredients for a special dinner from our fish monger- bronzini!
nice fish, mild, mellow, but very boney. Well, he hates bones in his fish so the selling point is our fish mongers are very adept at de-boning. Of course this time consuming talent raises the cost of an already pricey fish, but well worth the price. He was going to surprise me, instead, HE got the surprize.
As the story is told, after he bought the prize fish, and stowed in on the front passenger floor, he stopped for gas. Mistake. He left the Jolly Fisherman in the car alone. Yup...
He unknowingly gets back in- Quincy is back in the back seat, and drives off. He hears some paper rattling, reaches back in the dark and retrieves some paper- white (thing butcher/fish wrap) but still does not make the connection. Drives along, hears some slurp, slurp, chew, chew, can't quite figure it out, but it's dark and Q is in the back seat. Reaches back again, more paper. DH is assuming his Bronzini catch is safe and sound in the front seat....
Until he gets home and finds a few slivers of silvery fish, perfectly de-boned, and a satiated brown doodle boy looking oddly full. He had, according to DH, no idea this was not meant to be his take out dinner. You know, like sushi to go....
As my DH said, the only thing left was the lemon.

We have had 2 similar experiences with our doodle Sadie. The last time she ate a full pound of very expensive cheese which she aslo snatched from the floor of the front seat and I had it all covered.Of course I did not notice until I got home. All gone but the plastic bag and cheese wrap.
At least Quincy didn't eat the lemon! Sorry your meal was ruined but glad you were able to see the humor in it.
Uh oh! Lucky Quincy.
I am sure that Quincy loved his "{sushi" snack..." I am referring to the raw fish, lol isn't that what sushi is? I am not a fish eater, except for shrimp, lobster, clams, etc...I know that most people love fish, I am just not one of them, lol..Sorry your DH lost his dinner, but really u can't blame Quincy...
Oh NO!! When I was growing up there was a fire across the street. Our family went out to see and our GSP ate 6 pork chops. Bones and all. I hope that Quincy enjoyed his fish!
Hilarious and Quincy certainly had a great appetizer! You rock Quincy:)
JD says "WTG, Quincy, you lucky doodle! Fish is the best!"
Yummy, Quincy! Easy to please...didn't even have to cook it! :)
