Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I went to PetSmart today on my run of errands to buy Guinness more "indestructible" toys and to look for a little coat for Izzy. No, we still haven't heard a word. I was thinking though when we get the call we may have to go quickly. Since she's been shaved all the way down, I didn't want her to be cold. I did find a really cute pink plaid cozy coat...so I'm ready. Anyway, I saw a guy with a gorgeous Golden Doodle. He was actually quite a "hotie" - both the guy and his Dood (not that I paid any attention, cause I'm happily married). So I went up to him and asked if his dog was a Doodle. He said yes and that he was four months. He had the need to "justify" why a manly guy like him had a Doodle. He told me that he would get much bigger and that he would be like a Golden....not like a Poodle. As if Poodle was a really bad, "girlie" thing. He went on to tell me that his dog was very physical and loved running with him. He said, "he never gets tired". Anyway, I was totally laughing inside. We were standing right next to the "dog clothes" so I asked him if he was looking for a "winter coat" for his Doodle (hehehe). He was appalled, and I was laughing even harder (inside of course). That's when I told him I also had a Doodle and asked him if he was on the "Doodle Kisses" website. I think that was the final straw for him. He said "no" and dragged his Doodle in the opposite direction. It was just so much fun. I apologize to any of our DK guys...I'm sure you are nothing like this.

My son did NOT want a doodle as they are stupid girlie dogs!!!! The picture I have of them first meeting is so funny as they both look like they are sizing each other up. My son is an animal lover so I knew there would be no problem having a doodle just the comments he got. My sons friend was the same way as his sister got a doodle and he thinks it is a girlie doodle. But the two boys bring thier doodles on play dates. Some times I have paniced as I can't find Neely and call my son and hes got him. But they would never get a doodle if they had their own houses of course!!

He really wanted a Rottweiler, but he was afraid the dog would be ashamed of its sissy owner.

I left my DH outside of the dollar store with our then 4 month old puppy on leash. When I came outside after picking up a few items, he was surrounded by three women oooing and coooing. He had a smile a mile wide. "Just imagine," I said, "if you would have been wearing your cop uniform and high-jacked a stroller, there would have been a riot."

I love when people say they got a doodle because they wanted a non-shedding dog but their husbands wouldn't have a poodle...like "doodle" sounds very masculine!
These people need to learn how to say "Lab mix", "Golden mix" "Retriever mix" etc. and save themselves the trouble of making excuses.

Maybe it is a good thing this guy doesn't belong to DK. He would have a stroke if he saw our "dress up" group!!!! lol

This is so funny. When I was first looking for a big low shedding dog, my husband said no way was he having any dog called a doodle. He's over it. Now most of the time instead of calling the dog by his name he just calls him doodle. I think he got over it when he found out how much attention he gets from all the ladies when he is out walking the dog. He does't know that they don't see him, just the doodle and I'm not telling him.

I don't know if I could have held it in. I think I would have laughed out loud in his face.
