We went to our favorite beach last night. We got lucky and it was low tide which means they didn't have to run around the rocks. Lots of room to run and play. Sorry, some of the pics are dark. It was evening and there was a storm blowing in.
Lucy discovered a little crab and became fascinated with him/her. She kept watching him and pawing at him ( I was there to make sure that no crab was harmed during the making of this blog). When Daphne tried to check him out, Lucy actually barked at her and lunged at her, something Ive never seen her do before. She clearly wanted that crab all to herself.
Lucy has the longest ears and every time she got close to little Crabby, he would grab her ears. The last time was the funniest thing Ive ever seen. She had a hard time shaking him off. But of course those pictures came out way too dark. Maybe it was because I was laughing so hard and couldn't make any adjustments.
Daphne wanted to play with Crabby. She just kept getting into a play bow and barking at him. When he wouldn't play with her, she resorted to growling and then trying to look charming.
Pippa tried to get in on the act as well. She was not as fascinated as the others. She got over Crabby pretty quickly and just had fun running down the beach.
Lucy finally "trapped" little Crabby under a rock. She was determined not to let him escape and she refused to leave that spot.
We decided to test her limits and left her there while we went back down the beach to collect our things. Daphne & Pippa came willingly with us. Lucy let us get completely out of her sight before deciding to join us. For Lucy, that is a major big deal. She NEVER leaves my side for anything! When we take her for a walk, she is not happy unless I hold her leash. My DD tried to walk her once and she would not leave the driveway without her Mama. When I leave the house, she lays right by the front door to wait for me even when the rest of the family is home with her. However, it appears that Lucy would leave me for a crab! eventually she did decide to join us. She's just lucky we were still there waiting for her...Lol (We know how lucky we are to have her!)
