An older, tired-looking dog wandered into my yard.
I could tell from his collar and well-fed belly that he had a home and was well taken care of.
He calmly came over to me, I gave him a few pats on his head; he then followed me into my house, slowly walked down the hall, curled up in the corner and fell asleep.
An hour later, he went to the door, and I let him out.
The next day he was back, greeted me in my yard, walked inside and resumed his spot in the hall and again slept for about an hour.
This continued off and on for several weeks.
Curious I pinned a note to his collar:
'I would like to find out who the owner of this wonderful sweet dog is and ask if you are aware that almost every afternoon your dog comes to my house for a nap.'
The next day he arrived for his nap, with a different note pinned to his collar:
'He lives in a home with 6 children, 2 under the age of 3 - he's trying to catch up on his sleep.
Can I come with him tomorrow?'

Maybe Hartley could come with him?? His sleep is being disturbed by the mid-nightly potty breaks for the puppy, and the puppy wakes up earlier than him and wakes us all up by crying. I practically have to drag him out of the house to go for a walk. He is defintely sleeping a lot more during the day to try and catch up!!

lol, had this email and thought it was smart of an old wise doggy, but kinda funny in a way cause we just recently found a stray beagle, last Sunday, kids were dragging this dog along to find it's owners, they gave up after coming to my door and just left this poor dog go. I was like you can't do that, it will get hit by a car or something happen to it. They wound up sticking the responsiblity of the dog on a neighbor girl, she was in tears cause she couldn't keep the dog either. I took the dog and put him in Honey's crate, along with some food and water, he didn't look starved at all, and was very well groomed, so I knew he was not on the road for long. Than I got into my car and started driving around looking for the owners, about 2 to 3 miles away is another development and sure enough at the guard shack and there was a sign "missing beagle", turns out Lou was gone for about 3 hours or so, and his Daddy who was in tears because he came home, gave me 100.00 for returning his beloved doggy. Had I not found the owners, I was going to contact shelters and also see if he was Micro chipped, which is a great thing to have done with our dogs...should they ever be in Lou's situation.
