Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Hello All!
I've enjoyed my time looking through photos and reading stories on Doodlekisses. My Fiancé and I plan on getting a Goldendoodle once we move into a home (can't wait for the extra space!). But until then, I have learned quite a bit about the breed and love hearing about everyone's dogs!
We've recently moved for my Fiance's job. I've been at a stand still in my job hunt- trying to figure out what I want to take on as a new career. Well, I think I may have found it! I'm interviewing tomorrow for a Vet Tech job here at privately owned Veterinary clinic.
I've done my research and understand that the tasks maybe be difficult and emotional- but also far more rewarding than most careers could offer. Just wanted to check in with you all to see if you have any advice or know of anyone in this career? No experience is needed (neither is vet tech education), however they said they will 'train the right person.'
I'm very excited about this opportunity! I appreciate any advice anyone could offer :)
Thanks!

Good Luck Amy!
Well I made it back from the interview! I was surprisingly nervous, which for me, means that I really wanted the job! I chuckled a bit when I saw a 'welcoming' cat on the counter and then saw the nearby wall with big writing: Guess who's turning 20! With said cat's pictures covering the wall :)
I met with one of the Techs. It was a preliminary interview prior to the head vet/owner interviewing the candidates. Hopefully my countless and insightful questions to her were enough of a sign that I'm excited about the opportunity and curious to learn more- and hopefully worthy of a second interview.
I'll let you all know when I do! Again, thanks for the support!
Thank you all for the well wishes! I'm very excited to interview for a job that I have a lot of passion for.
I hope I can report back with good news- you guys are great!
No advise here, just wanted to wish you good luck. Keep us posted.
I have interviewed tons of job candidates over my career and my best advice is to be genuine. Listen intently, make eye contact and if you don't know the answer to a question be earnest and tell the interviewer you do not know. It conveys the message that you will take responsibility for your behaviour. Nothing turned me off more than someone trying to bluff their way. And when they ask you what your greatest weakness is, don't give a lame answer like "I'm a perfectionist" because everyone knows that trick where the weakness can actually turn into a strength. I used that as my test question ;) Good luck and make sure you let us know how it goes!
@Jennifer....LOL!
I always tell my daughter to make sure she smiles, act confident, and take a moment to think about her answers before she speaks.
Good luck and I hope you get the job :)
Welcome, and good luck with your interview.
