F1 refers to the "first generation" cross resulting from breeding one breed with a different breed.
So an F1 goldendoodle comes from one poodle parent and one golden retriever parent. the pups are 50/50
F1b means that an F1 goldendoodle was bred with a poodle for 75% poodle genes.
From there there are F2's, F3s, and various combinations on and on.
