What to do to prevent Ticks?

We are planning on renting a cabin in the Smokey Mountains and a friend advised that we need to be concerned about Ticks over the summer months. Any suggestions on how to avoid a tick infestation on our Doodle babyl?

I'm heading to the woods of S.E. Missouri this summer and am concerned about tick protection.  This is an older blog and was wondering if anyone has any updates on products?

frontline plus works for us, but a friend of mine used it and her dog still got ticks. Her vet said it doesn't work on all dogs. With a light dog hopefully they will be easy to find. Love the picture. What a gorgeous doodle.

Most people use frontline plus for ticks. I love your picture....looks like a big doodle.

We just started Gaston-Cramer on Frontline-Plus. (he had previously been using comfortis for flea prevention only and that wasn't working out for him) We do have a tick issue here and I used to find them daily! Within a day of putting the Fronline-Plus on him I would still find ticks but now they were dead and shriveled up! Now THAT'S a beautiful thing! LOL
