Why I Love Dog People!!!

I was competing in an agility trial this weekend at the place I take lessons at. Every year at the trial, Lynda (our teacher) organizes a raffle to raise money for a good cause. Last year they donated the money to one of the girls who takes lessons there who had two dogs (brother & sister from the same litter) develop cataracts. Both dogs had to have both eyes operated on, and one of the dogs had to have further surgery after complications.

I am working towards a canine rehabilitation qualification. The next course I have to take is being held in Calgary and I live in Ontario. The whole trip is going to cost around $3000 for the cost of the course, flights, accommodation, rental car etc etc. This year she donated the proceeds of the raffle to me towards my trip to Calgary. I had no idea she was planning this and was blown away. I cried a lot!! They raised enough money to pay for my flight!! Everyone else knew what the cause of this years raffle was except me!! Amazing.
