- About Me:
- I am 70 years old and I live with a dog and cat. I work for Experience works which is a program to help senior citizens train and get a job. I have two grown children and some grandchildren. I love my labradoodle.
I have a BA from the University of Texas at Dallas.
- What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
- I have a black first generation labradoodle. Her name is Shadow because she became my shadow the first night I picked her up. She picked me at the breeder's. I want to breed her one time then I am going to have her spayed. She is a registered labradoodle. She is very lovable but sometimes stubborn. Maybe she is just spoiled. I have a tom cat I rescued. He is neutered and declawed. Both of my animals have been chipped. That is my wonderful immediate family. Shadow is six months old.
- Where did you get your doodle(s)?
- Breeder
- Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
- A breeder went out of business and gave her last four labradoodles away. I took one and he was stolen. Now you know why Shadow was chipped. I feel in love with my first one but I could not find him. I am buying Shadow a car safety belt tomorrow. She probably wont like that because likes to lean on me and that is dangerous.
- What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
- Shadow is still being trained but she is pretty good at fetching. I take her for rides in the car and to visit my grandaughter in Oklahoma. She likes the park.
- Does your doodle(s) shed?
- Nope!
- Who grooms your doodle(s)?
- I do.

So sorry to hear about Shadow. I still grieve my labradoodle who died on 09-18-10. I replaced him quickly but he was the best dog I have ever had. Remember all the good times with Shadow and it will bring smiles to your face. I have wonderful memories of Hondo and we talk about him just about every day. Some animals just keep their place in your heart. Hugs to you at this hard time.
