I'll be following your search. Don't be in too much of a hurrry. The right dog will come along before you know it (and hopefully in time for Mariah to attach herself to the new dog). We got Groucho Too (our goldendoodle) before Bruno died and Harpo was so involved with his puppy that he didn't even seem to notice that Bruno was no longer around.
Hi Bridgett! Thanks for the friend request! I grew up in Vancouver Washington and still have family there! I have to say it has change quite a bit since I lived there 30 years ago! Still a lovely area though. I hope you and your family find that special being who is waiting to join your household very soon!

Having been through dogs in mourning, I can understand clearly where you are coming from. That is how we got started with doodles also. Our standard poodle lost his life companion and was devastated. I got our first labradoodle basically for him and it worked like a charm. He was totally into the puppy. THen when he was approaching the "Rainbow Bridge" we got a goldendoodle puppy for the labradoodle. When the labradoodle died of liver failure, we got our third doodle, an ALD, for a companion for the goldendoodle. When dogs have been raised by other dogs, they become so involved that they definitely need another dog around. It is very hard to see a grieving pet. Good luck in your search.
