We would love to see a picture of Shaggy Maggie (love that name). Dexter, too, is Mr. Mellow. And very wary of ANYTHING new, so we are working on that everyday. Slowly introducing new things. As far as motivation, the puppy training class we're doing uses a "clicker" and treats (just small morsels of chicken or roast beef) as a reward. I don't know about your doodle, but Dexter will work for food!!! So I've found that this has been a good motivator. Also Happy Birthday to Maggie, too!!! Have a wonderful day with your doodle!
