Did you just start Vern on green beans?  My DH started Gracie about a month ago and she loves them!!!!  He spoke with a dog lady who's fat dog had lost weight.  He asked and she said "the green bean diet".  Well DH decided to give it a try even though Gracie Doodle does not need to lose weight.  She was seeking out grass all the time and he thought she needed something "green" in her diet.  She was never food motivated but now loves her beans mixed in with her kibble.  We reduced the kibble amount to allow for the beans.  She watches us when we are warming them in the microwave and gets all excited when it is food time!!  Looks like Vern is liking them a lot too!
