That is so sad, Karen :(  All this happened during my hiatus from DK.  Jackdoodle's life has helped so many dogs and will continue to do so thanks to your kindness and your knowledge that you so generously share with all of us.

Curt, Jackdoodle did not have a terminal illness. He died following surgery for bloat. I don't want to go into the details here, but mistakes, delays and incompetence at the after hours ER is what caused his death, so it is doubly heartbreaking.

Karen, as badly as I hate to ask, can you tell me what Jackdoodle died of?  I am curious if it is an issue related to all Doodles or was it an issue that was specific to only him?  He looked SO GOOD in the video I can hardly believe he was suffering from a terminal disease.   Maybe you could help save more Dudes if you can share it.  Thanks so much. (P.S.  I read through as many posts as I could before resorting to sending this, so I wouldn't have to open any wounds; so sorry).

Karen......I had not been on Doodle Kisses in a while. I am so sorry about JD. He was so lucky to have you for his mom and you to have him. The video is a treasure.

Just saw your sweet video of JD.  What a handsome boy he was and I know how much you loved him. I too hae a wonderful video that I treasure of our standard poodle who passed in 2010 - it now warms my heart and brings back so many good memories.  It took me a very long time before I could watch it without tears rolling down my face, but it brought back of the wonderful memories of a very special boy..
