Comment by Nancie & Gracie Doodle on May 18, 2010 at 3:14pm: Boy, it wasn't easy. The kayak is a tandem one and so both my husband and I were with her before landing at the beach. I was in the back and had her leash attached to her life jacket and hand it held tight. Then I would give it some slack and try to help paddle. She was doing fine but not comfortable and kept trying to readjust. The kayak bottoms are not comfortable. They are all bumpy and lumpy. I did have a rubber bath mat down to help with her footing. If the hull had been more like a canoe she would have been much happier I think. When we would paddle by buoys that had seagulls on them she would want to jump in the water and get them. She would actually whimper for them! I think she was a bit more comfortable when my husband was the only one in the kayak because she had a bit more room. Still, there was a lot of "stay Gracie" going on...lol
