Thank you for the comment on Cedar's picture.  This is a great video.  I think all poodles will take to swimming if given the chance. Cedar absolutely loves the water & is now swimming 50 yards out into the middle of a nearby pond.  She's not as good as my previous dog, Maggie(half lab & half golden retriever), but she's improving.  Given the standard poodle's heritage as a gun dog/water dog & the fact that their name is derive from the low German "pudle"(splash in water), it's not surprising.
