Getting used to the leash at 10 weeks

aw-so cute.  it's just like having a baby-you forget all the hard work and frustration once they have mastered the whatever the feat may be.  enjoy this time and bath him in patience and reward!

Yes, Murphy starts out by carrying the leash in his mouth. He also starts out a little reluctant. If I take the leash off, he will sit down and watch me walk about 50 ft ahead and then runs to catch up. I let him walk off leash for a few minutes and he stays by my side and keeps up nicely. Then I put the leash back on and we can usually make it all the way around the block pretty good. How much does your 10 week old weigh. Murphy is 10.5 lbs.

AnnaBelle is 10 weeks as well and we have been trying this as well.  Just just wants to eat the leash.  I remember very well that this is when we switched to a harness for Lucy and Sophie and that resulted in some champion pullers.  We are determined that we aren't going to a harness, but I'm not so sure we will stick to it!
