Help! My doodle is really hard to brush. I use a slicker brush and a comb and get lots of fur when I brush him. ( once a week or more). He does't like getting brushed and tries to eat the brush. I'm thankful he doesn't try to eat me. I found attaching him to the treadmill with two leashes helps, but I reallly need a different brush. Does les pooches brush work better than a slicker. They're not available locally but would order online if it would work better. Any advise would be appreciated.

Donna, your best bet is to join the Grooming Group. Lots of info on brushes and everything there:

Join the grooming group!!! It's so helpful! -- I let Timbow chew on his antler or a bully stick while I brush him so that he won't try to chew the brush. This has worked wonders for us! You should contact Kemp(another DK member) about the les pooches brush, he has a doodle store and lots of info!! :-)
I personally am a huge fan of the Les Poochs Brush. My Sophie hates just about any other brush or comb, but she will let me use the Les Poochs Brush on her. I also find that getting them up higher, like on a table or somewhere is beneficial to not only their staying still, but my back as well! With my Lucy in particular who doesn't shed very much I get a lot of fur when I brush her. I find if I give her a quick brush every day or every other day, and then a really good brush once or even twice a week it is a much easier process. If I let it go a whole week I have a pretty good challenge ahead of me.
I give Timbow a quick brush every other day and then a good brush once or twice a week too. You are so right, it really makes the whole brushing process a lot easier and helps him be more comfortable.
Yes! I like the double maroon / purple, I have the red emergency mat zapper too but the purple does the job so I rarely use the mat zapper...

brushing weekly helps greatly.
LOL...mine eats the brush too. I gotta figure those thighs edges and butt really are tender if he'd rather bite a metal brush!
I get my doodle cut to 1 in on the body and 1/2-3/4 on the face. Not popular but it works for us...
I would not use any other brush on Lucy expect the Les Pooches. It is the best. Pricey, but worth it. You will spend a ton of money trying to find something that works, so you might as well spend the money in the first place and get a Les Pooches. Go to Kemp Rader's page, he has a store and sells the brushes. Also, do join the grooming group, it is great Good Luck
What kind of coat does your doodle have? If it's not a difficult to brush coat (only a difficult to brush DOG) then you might also try the Chris Christensen T pin brush. Here's my review of it: http://www.doodlekisses.com/forum2/topics/chris-christensen-t-pin-b...
