We're looking for a good doggie daycare in the Smyrna or Dunwoody/Sandy Springs area to take Timbow. Does anyone have good recommendations or do any of you take your doodles somewhere in these areas?

Piper and Bailey both go to Best Friends in East Cobb. Piper has been going there once a week for the last 5 years and we have been very happy. There are several doodles that attend there on different days.

Feel free to ask me anything as I would be happy to share information.

In Sandy Springs there is Fido Fido. I looked at it several years ago but liked Best Friends better, plus it is closer to me. http://www.fidofido.com/ Fido Fido has indoors and outdoors, while Best Friends is only indoors if that matters to you. I have found that all the really good (and much larger) day care's seem to be in the midtown area, but I am very happy at Best Friends.

Above is a link to the Atlanta pet mag...it has tons of info in there...this link will take you to doggie day cares.
Feel free to use my web site for info in ATL. Below is a link for my Ga families. :) If you hear or find a great place for doodles let me know and I will add it on there, especially groomers!

Southern Charm Labradoodles ( Loganville Ga)
Thanks Carol! I actually found my groomer (Dee's Grooming Gallery) from your website and have been very very happy! Thanks for all your help!
I have been using Dee for years and just this year realized that she was listed on Southern Charm's site. I believe Piper was Dee's first, or one of the first goldendoodles; it is great to see others there!

Fido Fido is the day care directly in front of Dee's, although it's entrance is on Mt. Vernon. The Atlanta Magazine Best of issue does have great information if you haven't looked at it yet. I keep the issue until the next year's comes out.
A coworker of mine takes her Aussie to Bed & Bark in Smyrna and she loves it! I've been the happiest with the doggie day camp at PetSmart. It's only indoors, which is nice on the rainy days, and you can SEE everything that's happening in there. The staffers go in and actually throw balls and play with the dogs if they stop playing on their own, so you get a tired doggie at the end of the session. They also have two time tiers of daycare...all day ($20 a day) or 7 hours ($13 a day). I love that option, because sometimes I just need to do house stuff or play tennis and like Callie to have something to do (and I'd spend $13 on anything, so it seems friendlier!). They also have theme weeks and do cute stuff with the dogs and in the summer have "splash" days where they bring in kiddie pools and hoses and let the doggies splash around. I never thought I'd be recommending a chain store, but we've had great experiences there.
Which PetSmart do you go to? The one by Perimeter Mall has a very small room, not enough for a large dog to run around. I did look into them before ending up at PetSmart, but at the time there is no way Piper would have had the room to run. Maybe the other locations have a larger room.
I don't know the Dunwoody PetSmart...I usually go to the Buckhead one, but have had friends also like the Smyrna location. The Buckhead location doesn't have huge areas for the daycare, but they do have 4 glassed in areas and Callie plays and plays (I've hid in the store and watched - I'm such a nerd!). It's not a running place, so I guess it depends on your daycare needs...I want Callie to play with other dogs and get nice and tired (and when it's too wet/muddy to go to the dog park) and PetSmart MORE that fills that need. For running I take her somewhere off leash and outside and let her run, or throw the tennis ball down the stairs over and over. I picked Callie up from Barking Hound once and I think they let her nap all day...she bounced around the house all night! When she goes to PetSmart, she falls asleep in the car on the way home!

I'm not sure how big Piper is - I can only tell that he's CUTE! Callie is just under 40 lbs.
Thanks, Piper is a girl, but a big tomboy! She is 63 lbs. and when I first started taking her to daycare, I was looking for a place for her to play and run. She is a big wrestler and the room at the Dunwoody PetSmart was very small, barely larger enough for 10 dog to move around. At Best Friends, there is a lot of room for wrestling, running and just milling about.
