We are getting ready to do a small remodelling project in order to make it easier to wash/groom the dogs at home. We are going to be getting a large dog tub and this is the one I'm considering. Anyone have any experience with this?

this tub comes in 2 sizes, make sure the size of your doodles are not that of the tub. You will have water all over the floor and every thing else if it is to small. But it is a very durable tube. Easy cleaning, great height,, make sure it is on a even surface or it will wobble under a shakie dog. Check price there are cheaper places out there.
Cheapest price I've found so far is $424 plus tax and shipping. Shipping is the killer at approx $130.00. I keep searching hoping I can find a groomer going out of business or something and get a nice stainless one for cheap, but so far no luck. Do you know of a source cheaper than the $424. Seems everyone I've found so far ships directly from the company. This is the larger 48" tub so I think that it will be large enough. Just about the same size as the bath tub where I currently bath them. My dad is our builder, so I'm sure he can brace it etc., so that it will be nice and sturdy. Thanks for the input and let me know if I'm missing a better pricing source.
Don't know if you have a Petco where you live, but I used their "self-serve" bath Saturday and was almost flooded out. They have a professional tub that was not drained properly and the floor was sopping wet, the longer the water was on, the more the water rose. Apparently dog hair was clogging the drain. Though I have no experience with the tub you want I am writing this because something as simple as a drain might be overlooked. Good Luck with whatever you get, and Happy Bathing. Oh, yeah, Happy New Year, too! : ) !
No petco that I'm aware of here. We do have a local Dog Wash at one of our Car Washes that I went and looked at, but you have to take all your supplies and it is "COLD" outside now. I figured I'd rather spend a little extra and just get the sink installed here where I didn't have to tote everything (shampoo, conditioner, towels etc.) and two dogs to get them done. For what I pay to get them just washed at a groomers, it wouldn't take too many trips to the groomers to pay for the tub so I figure I'll come out ahead in the life span of two doodles. Thanks for your input, I'll make sure the drain is nice and big and installed correctly to make sure we don't have a flood. Happy New Year!
I'm sure you will make the right choice. I have only been paying ten dollars to use the tub. They include shampoo and towels, so it has been convenient for only one dog, however, after the fiasco of our last
trip I will stick to my home shower with hose attached and deal with the clean up at home. If we had
room for a dog tub I would love it, too.
try Petedge.com I looked real quick on there and there is one similar to the one you are looking at and its $364. item #TP55430 (it's regular $799.) This is the company someone told me about when I was looking for clippers and I ended up buying them and the blades and combs all from them. They are very helpful. They also told me about the fresh pet shampoo and conditioner from top performance. It's great!! Molly smell clean for 2 weeks after washing her with it. I will never wash her with anything else now. Also when I ordered my clippers and things I signed up for their e-mails and got and e-mail good for free shipping! I also think they give you free shipping if your item is over a certain amount. They have toys and treats and all kinds of stuff on there at a very reduced price. I also got alot of Molly's toys on there for Christmas. Good luck I hope this helped a little.
This is probably way too basic for what you're looking for, but I saw this on the Costco website and thought I'd throw it out here:

I think if I lived somewhere warm where baths could be outside this would be perfect, but I've seen this and checked it out previously and I think trying to use it inside we would make a real wet mess. I make enough mess using the bathtub. Thanks for forwarding it though. If I had only stayed in Florida!
This tub is a good choice. It is used for professional grooming too. Just make sure about the correct instalation, and everything will work fine. Did you tryed to find it at craigslist? Sometimes there are people going out of business and selling the stuff at very good prices. If you gonna need a professional dryer, ckeck this out Hurricane Dryers. You can lease one as cheap as $20 month as long as you need it. Good luck and happy New Year.
Thank you for your input. I have been checking Craigs List in the Cincinnati area with the hopes that I would find a used one, but so far no luck. After we get the tub in and I figure out exactly what I want to use as the table, then I'll be looking at dryers, so I'll keep this one in mind when I start that search. Again, many thanks and Happy New Year.
This may sound a bit different, but I use a standard size, metal office desk for a grooming table. It does take up a bit more space, but I was able to attach a grooming arm and cover it with a rubberized type shelving paper for the mat. Mitzi gets up on it by herself and it works fine. She is able to lie down for me to work on her if I choose for her to do that. We are comfortable with this system and it doesn't cost as much as a professional type grooming table. The only negative is I have to turn her around to do both "sides" as the desk is against a wall.
Hmm, I ike the idea of the desk, as I could store all the grooming supplies in the desk drawers.
