Completely off topic, but who has kids that left for school today? Let's see pictures!

It's a big year for me. My "baby" started first grade today and now both kids will be gone all day. I'm not sure how I feel about this. He is so excited, but my house is so quiet.... I miss them, but know I should be enjoying myself.

My kids are 4 years apart in age. I think he'll be taller than her by next year!

My "baby" off to all day 1st grade.

He DID grow into a man this last year, April. It truly seemed like it happened overnight. & He's SUCH a good kid. Great grades, very involved in school, active in church, great with his little sisters, and just as important, still hugs and kisses his mom without embarrassment!

Enjoy these years - they are the best!
Jill your kids are adorable as always! You mean it doesn't get any easier? :(

So is everyone's doodles keeping them company? I did a LOT of thinking about the timing of our pup's arrival into our family, but I honestly never realized how perfect it would be for our youngest, Annie (3), who has been quite out-of-sorts without her sisters here. When she feels a bit too lonely, she just seeks out her Wrigley. I've taken her and Wrigley together to the park a few times and it's working out okay.
I'm counting on Wrigley keeping ME company when Annie goes to preschool next year!
Oh, the pictures are so cute! Wow are kids do grow-up fast! Madeline started Kindergarten, August 13, but Eric's first day of preschool was today!

Adorable!!
Oh GOSH! They are Adorable!!! I remember when I could put bows in my daughters hair!
Oh, so cute Natalie!
LOL!!! Too funny!
You all have BEAUTIFUL kiddo's! Really...each and every one of you...even Jill with her MANLY son =) And Jill, Wrigley is becoming cuter and fluffier every day!

From what I recall...my mom never seemed sad or nostalgic when my brother and I started school each year. She probably thought "good riddance!" LOL
Thanks Adina! After we brushed Wrigley today we just laughed at how silly-fluffy she is! and to think I was worried, . . .

& LOL on your mom not getting too weepy for your back-to-school days - my mom confessed to me last week that it really was never too hard for her, even when we left for college! We must have been a handful.
How funny. I was never a "handful" but I think she just trusted it would all be fine. I remember in college she and I were talking and she mentioned how her friends tell her they talked to their daughters EVERY DAY practically while their daughters were first in college...she thought it was strange because after all we only talked on the phone once every 1-2 weeks or so. She also didn't get upset when Clark and I eloped and surprised her with a telephone call from the limo in Hawaii after our ceremony =) She was jaw drop surprised, but not offended at all.
My friend and I were just discussing this. I've been a blubbering mess as I've sent my oldest and only DD off to college (at 17) this year. I know my Mom missed me, but it's not the same. Parents weren't as involved in their kids lives as we are today. My mother was a brownie leader and went to all of my games etc., but we didn't do pasta parties with the sports teams, and all of the inclusive family events that schools offer now.
