Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

My foster is a black goldendoodle who at 8 months seems to be turning colors. She is blowing her puppy coat and I am curious about what might take place with her adult coat.  Her undercoat is mahogany in some areas, brown in others, and even golden retriever  orange.

Any other  black doodles out there that changed coat colors?

Do you have a picture you can show me?

Silver poodles and doodles are all born black and lighten as they get older. But clearly your foster isn't turning silver.
Oh I get it now. My hair is black but is turning silver as I get older. : :) From now on I will tell people I am a poodle or doodle.
I love the color of those silver doodles. They are beautiful...

I love this Doodle! You are cute!
What a precious face!!
Just for your Karen, 2 hairs are white. No exaggeration--2 little hairs. :)
Pull them OUT!!!!
Oh shush! I am jealous!
I was going to say that maybe she is a phantom doodle too. Here is a picture I found on the internet.

WOW ~ Weird...THIS LOOKS JUST LIKE TORI! Is THAT a phantom?? I was told she was a tri-color aussiedoodle She really never turned color - her black stayed black - she always had about 5 strands of gray one in each spot, but her tan markings got much lighter - more white-ish . I'm on my lap top now which doesn't have my pics... I'll try and post one later.. crazy!
Sounds good to me.. I always thought "phantom" meant like a tannish color, but maybe I'm thinking of "parchment"
Phantom has to do with the pattern more than the color I think.
