Any differences (besides the obvious size comparison) in temperment, habits, personality, intelligence?

You guys are great!!
Boy, do I totally get the whole clumsy thing! The fact is that the larger dogs do require more time to mature and physically acclimate to their larger bodies. I think they need more time to mentally mature too because of their size but I'm not an expert.

My mini-guy Sunny is like your Beckett, Jackie, and I love that he doesn't act like the reputation smaller dogs have. He's a sweetheart in a smaller package and I love him to death so I can't wait to see him become a dad! I should update the pictures since the one I used (of Sunny) on my avatar.
Do you know any mini who does Maureen? Like you say, it's a small dog 'reputation' thing...not the reality of any Mini Lovers I know!
Angus is one yr. old and he is less apt to bark when someone drives in the driveway than my son's standard doodle, Walnut. He sounds a lot like Beckett. Also seems to learn more easily than the big dog.
Hi Jackie, seems increasingly like a stereotype based on limited experience. Shame it's on a pro Mini's forum though for so many Mini Lovers to read!
We only have one mini doodle pup but we have a 60 pound lab mix and and 50 pound English Springer Spaniel. When I compare how they were as puppies and how they are now to Ned, the doodle, I don't see any differences other than what they personally have. Our lab mix was a really mellow puppy who was eager to please. As he grew he decided to bark at people as they come to the door or walk by our campsite (we do a lot of RVing). He is a little anxious at new things. Our Springer was a horrible, destructive puppy when we left him at home, destroying couches, rugs, even the molding on our walls!!! He was also loving and pushy and demanded most of the attention. Now, we have Ned who has chewed few things, is a "trash digger," is very loving and demands most of the attention. He pushes in front of the other dogs and even takes toys out of the Springer's mouth. I say what goes around, comes around and the Springer (sweetie that he is) is only getting his just deserts!
Halas is a lot like Beckett and Angus. They're from the same breeder, and Halas and Angus have the same daddy, so I don't think their personalities are an accident. Halas barks a little, but not excessively. He has a really low bark he uses for strange noises or things he hasn't seen before (just a simple "woof"), and he'll bark once in awhile at people walking by our house. He plays a little too rough sometimes, but even that has diminished over the last couple of weeks. He's very sweet and smart. He doesn't seem to have any issues that small dogs sometimes have. The only standard I know is a labradoodle in our obedience class, and the labradoodle and Halas seem to be learning at about the same pace. She's a little ahead of Halas, but she has an older doodle at home to learn from, so that helps some.
With the emphasis on FOR!! Yo!!
Well I'm not really convinced that Maggie is a "mini" anything, as she weighs 42 lbs!! But technically she's a medium petite and was suppose to be between 25-35 lbs. Maggie doesn't seem to have qualities that others have referred to, not sure if it's related to her size. she does get a little barky when the doorbell rings or she see's someone outside, but usually quiets down when I threaten to take her to the pound :) (just joking!) To me she totally has the personality of the retriever, she's goofy and friendly and would fetch a ball for the rest of her life. She's been around other dogs that are bigger/smaller than her and sometimes she's alpha and sometimes she's submissive.
Hi All...My once silent yet vocal in other ways Mini-Doodle is growing up.......Blake has just discovered that he can bark.....He's doing it A LOT this week!......YIKES!.....There are three indentifiable kinds of barks...The happy carefree bark or yap... the "I'm pretending to be a BIG dog bark"...( so funny coming out of this little fidget dog..lol..) and the newest one..the "Warning Warning! Sound the alarm!" bark that scared the heck out of me the other night....If you were an intruder you would have thought he was pitbull......
My Kachi is a medium GD, as his dad is a minature poodle. But as of last Friday, (right before his 6month birthday)he weighed in at 42 lbs. Frankly, I was thinking this is how much he would weigh full grown, but evidently, I was wrong!! How much more do our puppies grow after six months of age, on average??

Temperament wise, he is the sweetest! He really is pretty mellow for a puppy, except that he goes completely bonkers when anyone comes to visit, or he sees another dog! He gets sooooo excited and happy to see anyone, he just can't help himself! We're working really hard on this!!
I don't think there's a huge difference in personalities according to size but we notice all the time that our three have very different personalities and we appreciate & enjoy those differences. Keela (the real mini) is very loving, loves laps (especially her DoodDad's) and will jump on any available lap at the dog park--mostly with no warning. Sometimes she's been sitting in the water bowl so she's not always welcome. It's a good thing she's little and very cute--LOL

Tassi is about 38 pounds and we call her a medium, though it seems that everyone has a different definition. She was the 'first doodle', is very well trained, but definitely NOT a lap dog. It's my opinion that, in part, her personality is connected somewhat to her being first and, though we played with her a LOT, we didn't hold and cuddle her as much as the other two. At the park she likes to sit up very straight and watch the activity instead of participating in it. She reminds me of my first human child.

Java is also a medium and weighs about the same as Tassi. From the first day she could play at the dog park she's been extremely confident and will play with any-dog. The past 3 weeks she has become somewhat aggressive when another dog (expecially terriers) invade her space so, for now, she spends a lot of time on leash, sitting beside me. We have to correct this aggression now!
I think the are considered medium up to 50 pounds
