Does anyone in the group have mini pups from Ashley and Radar. Our Maddie...born March 2006 is the greatest!..The photo is of Maddie at age 1 1/2 years of age.
I just posted--stilll getting used to this format--our Tika is from that pairing, but born in Novemebr that year. She has been wonderful, too. I'll try to include a picture; my husband is better at that. Tika is about 36 lbs by now, and I think 19"? I need to measure again. But she loves the snow (we live in NH)
loves chasing snowballs, is a good catch; also very obedient too. Independent so not always coming to every call from an interesting distraction, but very trustworthy and friendly; good with people and dogs.
She loves her pack (us!).

Stella is 48 lbs. She supposedly was the 2nd largest female in the litter. She also loves people and other dogs, and is very playful. She demands a lot of attention, but gives a lot as well. She is well loved by our family. Her onely knock is she is overly excited to greet people when they come to the door, and she jumps up on them. We have worked with trainers, treats etc., but we can't seem to nip this habbit. The saving grace this doesn't last very long after people arrive at the house, but too long for some people.
I see some of TIka in her eyes. Tika is expert at communicating, via eye contact and voice (soft sounds that register some need or compliant). :-) The dogs sound similar.
Tika is exuberant about people too, and we notice when we work with her more often she is better, for instance walking on-leash. She's happiest and best walking off-leash in the woods. We also noticed that when we taught her to keep a distance from greeting folks, she seemed to get shy or spooky with some--and we decided we'd rather err on the side of exuberance. She's very smart (of course...) and seems to pick up on what it is you are converying easily. Even if you don't realize you are converying something. :-)
Hi, Dusty born November 2006 also. A female she is currently about 54 lbs. just a little overweight, she has wandered into our neighbors yard through a damaged fence and has been helping herself to kibble and numerous toys belonging to the neighbors dogs! It is hard to believe she will be three come this next November. Dusty has mellowed some but mostly just as energetic since the day we brought her to our home. Also, very smart, she has the morning and evening routines down pact. In the morning when she sees me brush my teeth she goes into her kennel and waits for me to give her a treat knowing I will be heading out the door soon. A great family dog and gets along with all four of our cats too!
