Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

My labradoodle has issues with his water bowl.  It's stainless steel, and we keep it clean.  We change his water every morning & after he eats.  That's 3x a day.  He still prefers the fresh toilet water, even if it isn't flushed.  I tried putting the Clorox bleach cups in the tank thinking that would turn him off of it, but nope, he still drank it and then got sick.  Boy did I feel bad about that one.  He will also drink out of the plastic bowl we keep for him in our bedroom versus his nice stainless steel, raised bowl.  What's up?  Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

If a ceramic bowl doesn't work, try a water fountain for dogs. It circulates the water to keep it fresher and you
don't have to change the water until the bowl gets dirty.
I thought about that, but I wander if it actually works or if you still have to clean it every meal. After every meal, my dog drinks, then all the crumbs from his beard fall into the water bowl and it gets disgusting. So I have to clean the bowl after every meal.
I think the water in the toilet tank is cooler. And they just like it!! You don't have anti freeze on your garage floor, do you? It sounds like your doodle really likes to lap up about anything!!
