Summer Cuts....

It is that time of year when many of us are getting ready to give our dogs a good summer cut.  Please share some of your summer cut photos...for us all.  Thank you.

I love the lion, no laughing here. But I'm glad I never had to be so extreme. And the other two look great.

I am one of those who like the longer shaggy look and want Ned to look the same from grooming to grooming - I just want him to feel clean when I touch him and smell good. We don't go do lots of dirt-gathering activities with our doodle, so a longer coat is do-able. We pay $30 - $35 dollars which allows us to go often - if I was paying $120 or even $60 per groom, I would cut shorter and let it grow.

I love Clancy's new do....he and Ned look so cute together. I may start trimming Astro myself. We do his feet and belly. Why not the whole dog? HA!

I say it you can do it - go for it. I have NO NO NO talent or skill with scissors and hair. I know someone who has lots of fun with their doodle's hair styles and he often sports a mohawk.

We paid $130 last November to have him fully groomed and shaved down to 1/2" all over except for his head and tail. I guess that's why Singapore is ranked no. 9th on the list of the most expensive countries to live in. He looked very strange but adorable. We love it, though my neighbors commented that he looked hideous! It has been almost 4 months, his coat is around 2" long (picture above taken just yesterday). We like it this length, and since his coat grows so slowly (which is a good thing), we are guessing the next full grooming session will be in June.

O.K. Yvonne, I bit the bullet and had Cimmy trimmed. I told the kids that I would probably cry when I picked her up, but, though in shock, I LOVE IT!!! Here is her picture as of today. Happy Easter and Happy Belated Birthday, brother Astro!!!! Oh, sorry to say, but I paid $54 for the trim, dematting around the hips, tick removal (found 4), and all of the other basic stuff done with grooming. Have a good week! Betsy
