Frontline Plus question

Was at the vet today to pickup Chewie's Interceptor for the month and figured since Spring has definitely sprung around here, I better start him back up on Frontline Plus also.

 

Does it matter if you give and/or use both at the same time or should I space it out by a day or two?

I'm one of those who believes in spacing out all vaccines, preventatives, etc. as much as possible. For a healthy dog, this may not be necessary, but if it doesn't cause you any additional hardship, I would give them on separate days. If there should ever happen to be a reaction to anything, it might help you identify the cause.

I usually give one at the begining of every month and start the other in the middle of the month. The 1st they get Interceptor and 15th of each month they get the flea control. I feel more comfortable giving it to them this way.

I spread mine out...one on the 1st of every month and the other on the 15th!

I agree with the others to always space things out. That way if there ever were a reaction you know what caused it.

I space them out by a couple of weeks. The Interceptor tends to make her stool very loose for a day, so I figure not doing the Frontline at the same time just helps her system to bounce back a bit more easily.

BTW---was at Petsmart today and noticed that they are now selling Frontline Plus for about $12.00 less than our vet does. I picked up Nugget's next box.

I think I am going to switch this season to Interceptor instead of Heartgard... Tori did get lethargic and had some vomiting when I gave it to her in the past... coincidence??? I don't know... but I HATE giving her these preventatives, but it's better than the alternative! I am also going to post on the forum about something else I saw instead of the meds...

My understanding is that Frontline Plus is not guaranteed to be within the sell-by date or genuine when sold at a store rather than a vet. My groomer checked out Costco as a source and Frontline does guarantee that chain.

I agree with spacing it out! I plan on doing the same once we get going with the frontline again here soon too!
