Natural Balance "Potato and Duck" works great for old dogs with loose stools!

I finally, FINALLY found a premium dog food that my 11 year old (Siberian Husky) not only LIKES but it has firmed him up. For nearly a year he's been going really loose, watery stools. I've tried him on several different dog foods, but nothing was helping so I've been having to put a bunch of steamed rice in his bowl with a couple teaspoons of low sodium chicken broth over it, to get him to eat it. 

 

When I was at Bone Appetit (my favorite local pet food store) the owner told me that his old dog had the same problem and this took care of the problem. He gave me a bunch of samples, and within two days I can see a THOUSAND PERCENT improvement! Nice, firm poopies to pick up now instead of flat, gooey messy globs. HOORAY!  He enjoys the taste so much I don't even have to add anything to it. He gobbles it right up. He seems to be feeling much better, too. *huge sigh of relief* Nice!

I'm glad this is working for you and your senior guy loves it. I think at that age, the main thing is to find something that agrees with them and makes them happy.
For young dogs who don't have any issues, though, the Natural Balance foods are too low in protein; the formulas have the word "potato" ahead of the protein (duck, venison, etc.) because potatoes are the main ingredient. But for dogs with digestive issues or food intolerances, this is a good choice.
I know that Dianne would want us to mention that Natural Balance is one of the foods manufactured by Diamond Pet Foods, whose products we continue to be cautious about because of their use of fish meals preserved with ethoxyquin and the use of ingredients imported from other countries. However, the formula you are using does not contain fish meal, so for this one, the ethoxyquin is a non-issue. Stay alert to any changes in ingredients or formulas.
