F1b Allergies

Hi! I'm currently in the process of doodle research because my
boyfriend and I are planning on getting a doodle next spring.  He has
mild dog allergies (my family has a golden retriever and he's really
only bothered by him in situations where he's surrounded by a lot of
Burton's hair - say the back of my car before I got seat covers...) 
and I've read and heard different things about how people with
allergies react to F1b doodles.  Does anyone with mild dog allergies
have an F1b doodle? And are you at all bothered by their coat? I've
heard that the curlier coats are better.

I have two doodles, one is an F1b Labradoodle, that we rescued at five months old, from a family who wanted a hypo-allergenic dog as their older son had allergies. He was absolutely fine with Chester and the family thought they had finally found a dog that their son could live with, but they also had a young baby who after about 2 weeks of the dog coming to live with them started getting hives on his exposed skin. The allergist concluded that the baby was probably allergic to Chester's saliva, so a new home needed to be found.

Our F1b, still sheds but not as much as our Golden used to, I cannot comment on whether our F1 Goldendoodle will shed as he is only 10 weeks old, but he seems to have a much straighter coat than Chester did in photos I have seen of him as a puppy.

Hi! My son was diagnosed with allergies to dogs, that is why we decided upon a labradoodle. We have had 2 flb's a standard and a mini and he has not been affected at all by either of them. You will just love the doodle breed, they are so sweet, smart and always happy. Good luck! Terri and "mini" Cooper

Bear is an FB1 too.....he really does not shed, he molts instead. It is rather funny.....clumps get on the carpet and it really looks like a bug :) LOL Anyways, we got Bear because of my husband who is allergic to both cats and dogs. No problems for the past 2 years he has been with us :)
