Hi.  Does anyone have any good "stretchy" toy recommendations?  LiliBear loves to run around with "found" undergarmets.  Nothing could be more fun for her than to put a paw down on one part and pull with her teeth with the other . . . well, maybe the tease she gives me when she say's look what I found and runs around the living room as if to proudly say catch me if you can . . . Anyways this is getting expensive . . .lol. . . . and I would like to find the best next alternative toy for her.  Any suggestions?

I have the same problem with Achilles, I will be tuned in to see if you get any answers. Some days I just want to give in but I know that would be sending the wrong message. I hope you get some good suggestions.
:) I'm happy to hear that I am not alone :)
We just got a Skinneez for Buddy and he loves it. It has no stuffing in it and 2 squeekers. We got him the small since he is still kind of small. I saw that Petsmart had the large one but here is the link for both sizes and I went to www.retailmenot.com and got a $5.00 off coupon code that paid for all but 99 cents shipping. Might be worth a try. Hope it helps! :)

I don't think it is the toy aspect so much as it it the fact that it's forbidden. Leo does the same thing - his specialty is socks. A couple of weeks ago he was at the vet for some help in regurgitating one that he had just swallowed. We try not to chase him when he has stuff like that because it seems to just make it more fun and tempting...I trade treats for whatever he's stolen and that generally works. Since we have two other dogs everyone gets a treat and Leo usually just abandons whatever he has so I don't think he has equated the treat with the action ---yet! You do have to be careful because as they grow they can swallow bigger objects - hence the trip to the vets. I've read horror stories of what can happen when people just wait for them to come out the other end....
I agree with Lori...it's the forbidden aspect but you can't rule out yummy (to them, not us!!) smelly aspect too!!! It turns into a game of chase. At 18 months Lucca doesn't eat socks anymore. Just likes to carry them around or jump on the bed with one in his mouth and put it in your face...ugh:) He also has to have something in his mouth to greet someone who comes to the door; be it stuffed toy or sock. Whatever is handier. That's the retriever in him. Early pup stage he ate EVERYTHING!!! Do a search in puppy madness for good toy suggestions. I know I had put one out there last year because he ate everything and it became expensive:) Kongs on a rope are fun and the Holey Roller are rubbery but Lucca loves them. There's not one stuffed toy he hasn't chewed and destuffed. I was constantly sewing the bodies that were continually looking more and more distorted!!!

The funny thing is that there was one fleece toy he never ate, just suckled like a pacifier, and still does in the morning and at night. There is a discussion about that too (Doggy Pacifier) because it's so darn cute.

Bottom line here before this turns into a book....keep the socks and underwear picked up for awhile.....it WILL get better!!!!!
The great thing about the Skinneez is that there is no stuffing in them. Buddy has destroyed 3 toys with stuffing. Luckily we got to him before he had all the suffing ripped out. Buddy likes socks too. He would grab them and then shake his head around wildly. The Skinneez gives the same sensation and he loves squeaking the head and tail. One of the stuffed toys he actually punctured the squeaker with his sharp puppy teeth. :)

I agree too. It is a good idea to keep the socks and underwear picked up the best you can.
Yeah, Lucca had those too.....They're headless now!!!
How about tossing a new toy into your dirty clothes hamper for a couple of days? When I bought " Hide The Bee" that's what it said to do on the box to make the little bees more "attractive" to the dog....Charlie loves my son's stinky socks... I think th funkier the better for her....
I get Sheila a new toy almost every week! She still likes socks and MY bras. Argg. I can hardly let her into the master closet with me she is such a menace. Today she even jumped in the hamper to enjoy everything in there. She usually has a leash attached to her, otherwise I have to chase her down to retrieve my garments. All I can say by way of encouragement is that all my other dogs gradually outgrew this behavior, but it took awhile. I have gradually resorted to rearranging my bedroom closet, putting my "valuables" up higher and leaving some other things lower. Leather sandals up, socks lowere. They are cheaper to replace.
Very cute . . . I wonder if we should do a sympathy tally to see who lost the most undergarments to their doodles play drive . . .lol . . . there is something to the elastic in these different undergarments that make them so appealing . . . I need to go shopping for replacements for me . . . lol.
Yeah Lucca chewed one of my daughter's thongs and she accused me of cutting it!!!!!!
Hunter goes into "stealth" mode when he gets a hold of those! I've actually witnessed him search through a basket of dirty clothes to find a sock or other unmentionables! I haven't found a replacement yet, but I do know that he really likes to have a towel or this old stuffed animal that no longer has stuffing in it. He just chews on it and not like with a bone. I don't know if it's the side of the Golden with the "soft mouth" or what. However, if given the choice, the socks and underwear will always win out.
