Places that are "doodle" friendly ~ stores, restaurants, etc...... Let's make a list!

Recently I found out that there are places that you can take your doodle that I never would have expected.  Awhile back we were at Cabela's in West Virginia and they have a boarding/doggie daycare for customers that are shopping.  Just a few weeks ago we were out of town and going to Bass Pro Shops in Toledo, Ohio I really didn't want to leave Hunter in our camper while we were gone but I get nervous leaving her in the car that someone would steal her.  I called Bass Pro and asked if maybe they had the same kennel area like Cabela's and I was shocked that they allowed dogs to shop with you in the store.  WOW  it was a great shopping trip, I wasn't board out of my mind walking around with my husband looking at camping, hunting and whatever else.  I got to walk Hunter around :-)

All of this got me thinking there have to be many more stores and even restaurants that allow dogs to come in.  So how about we make a list of any local or national store, etc.  that allows to bring our doodles in.

I have never, ever seen a "Dogs Welcome" sign on any store here in CT. You are so lucky to live in a "progressive thinking" area.
Me either, in Chapel Hill, NC.
this is great will be following to learn more
if you go to the Bal Harbour Shops here in Miami withOUT your dog, you are definitely out of step! LOL My local Old Navy has one of those dog statues near the entry, along with all the people statues, and Beau always greets the dog statue...once he even went behind to smell its tushy...I and everyone looking were just hysterical.
Macy's will allow dogs. The staff loves it when I go in with Nick. She has also been to Nordstrom many times. Most restaurants in CA with outdoor seating allow dogs, although your dog may have to be tethered outside the "fence." This is not a problem when I get a seat right by the fence - Nick is still right by me.
Carmel is the most dog-friendly city I know of. Upscale restaurants have separate dog menus and bring water as a matter of course. Most shops, even fancy ones, allow dogs - there are signs outside some that say
"Of course your dog is welcome here, and if you're well-behaved, you can come in, too!"
Karan do you know if it is corporate policy to allow dogs at Macy's? I've never attempted to take Rosco into our Macy's here, but then again if I was REALLY shopping I'd need to use the dressing room and I'd hate to get dog hair all over the clothes before I bought them.
Does your Doodle shed? I haven't met one, yet, that sheds.
You're kidding! Lots of them shed!
Mostly depends on the lineage. If you have an F1 or F1B or one of the more recent crosses, you are less likely to get a non-shedder (it's a toss up). If you have a registered multi-gen Australian Labradoodle, you are much less likely to get a shedder, esp. the more tightly curled the coat. (My girl is 5th generation Aust. Labradoodle with a fleece - less curly - coat and neither sheds nore activates my alergies).
Panera Bread allows dogs at their outdoor seating section:-)
I know that PetsMart does. I love to take Sady and Cole because they are ALWAYS oohed and ahed over when I do take them. But, this is the only place I know of in South Mississippi. Usually down here, dogs are considered an OUTSIDE animal. So, we trail behind... as we do in most areas. We are definitely NOT avant garde! Look forward to hearing about places outside the deep south!
Clark Bearden
Clark, I am not far from you. On the New Orleans northshore, Mandeville. Murphy goes to PetsMart regularly and the Home Depot is across the street. He is allowed there (though I never ASKED permission...I will just go for the forgiveness) Actually, when the Saints were in the playoffs, we went in with Murph in his Shockey jersey (men's extra large) All of the employees were taking his picture. One actually said "This is going straight to Facebook."
We have a few resturants with outdoor seating where we are welcome.
Murphy is so huge that I am very aware of small children (not wanting to frighten them.) When I see hesitant kids, I put Murph in a down so he is not quite so intimidating.
