Places that are "doodle" friendly ~ stores, restaurants, etc...... Let's make a list!

Recently I found out that there are places that you can take your doodle that I never would have expected.  Awhile back we were at Cabela's in West Virginia and they have a boarding/doggie daycare for customers that are shopping.  Just a few weeks ago we were out of town and going to Bass Pro Shops in Toledo, Ohio I really didn't want to leave Hunter in our camper while we were gone but I get nervous leaving her in the car that someone would steal her.  I called Bass Pro and asked if maybe they had the same kennel area like Cabela's and I was shocked that they allowed dogs to shop with you in the store.  WOW  it was a great shopping trip, I wasn't board out of my mind walking around with my husband looking at camping, hunting and whatever else.  I got to walk Hunter around :-)

All of this got me thinking there have to be many more stores and even restaurants that allow dogs to come in.  So how about we make a list of any local or national store, etc.  that allows to bring our doodles in.

Me too! Can you believe that my DMIL doesn't like dogs....not even Timbow!!!!!!!!!!!!
How could anyone not like Timbow? I'm sure eventually he will win her over!
That's CRAZY. Timbow is the best and cutest guy!
You are both so sweet and I totally agree. She just doesn't like dogs...any dogs.Very strange.
The Tractor Supply store in Southaven, Ms is dog friendly. I have seen large dogs there before. They also sell dog items so it helps to be able to take them in while shopping for them.
I went to get my tires rotated at Town Fair Tire recently, and I left Indy in the car while I checked in. I was going to go back to the car and get him while they did the work on my car. There's a pet store next door so I figured we'd hang out in there in the meantime. Well, while I was checking in, one of the attendants went out to my car and brought Indy back into the store with him! I was a little nervous at first (where is this stranger taking my dog??) but it was fine! The best part was that all the big, burly, tire men that work in the store went CRAZY over Indy! They had high quality dog treats too and he gobbled them all up. It was so funny seeing all these mechanic types talking baby talk to my little pup. Not sure if this goes for all Town Fair Tires (since they're pretty much all over the country), but this one was extremely dog-friendly! :)
I think it varies a lot from town to town. Home Depot where we live now (Huntsville, Ontario) is dog friendly, but not in our old town. Canadian Tire here used to be dog friendly until someone let their dog get in a fight with someone elses dog. I grew up in England where you could take dogs into country pubs if you were going for a meal, so I find it hard to go out for the day here and have to leave them in the car if we want to eat. A lot of places in Canada won't even let the dog on the patio from our experiences anyway.
Benson's is a pet store in Albany, NY that allows pets. Most do of course. Orvis Outfitters in Manchester, VT also allows dogs. We took Molly there a couple of years ago. Orvis has all these very real looking stuffed dogs throughout their store. Molly was so excited by them, but also totally confused when she smelled them and tried to play but they wouldn't respond. It was very funny and had the sales people all chuckling.

Thanks for doing this. I'm always looking for places that I can take both Molly and Clyde. I was surprised by some of the places like Kohl's and Chico's. I think Chamilla has the right idea about asking first. I'm going to start asking wherever I go. There may be a lot of places that allow pups but just don't advertise the fact.
Nashville: Sweet CeCe's frozen yogurt shop - tons of dogs are always outside on beautiful days (outdoor eating area). They welcome them there. Also the Grand Cru wine shop allows me to bring in my doggers.
I did not know sweet CeCe's allows dogs on the patio!
I'm in Atlanta and also had no idea I could take Callie to stores. If only she could go to Target with me! My hair salon allows her to come (Ambrosia Salon) and there's a new bar for dogs - Thirsty Dog Tavern (http://www.thirstydogtavern.com/). Callie is also welcome at most of the city's tennis centers (this is a big deal for me!). I really do wish she could go everywhere with me. She's been so extra cute lately!
I am working on a list to put into a Group! I am going to make it by State and National chains.......
