ANYbody who could comment on this would be greatly appreciated....

I'm having behavior problems with my 7 month old Doodle.  I am SO good

to her that I don't understand it.  I've taken her to "Doggie Class", I take

her to Daycare once a week so she can play with other dogs....at home

she just thinks everything is "Hers" and runs away with it whether it

be kleenex, envelopes, toilet paper, cd's....YOU NAME IT!!!  The "leave

it" command HAS helped, when she decides "ok, I'd better fork it over",

but it's driving me nuts.  Plus she's "bitey" to my husband and I and we've

tried the big "Ouch"- no luck, we've tried holding her mouth shut and she

quits for a time...and then the mood passes.  It seems like she's hyper

to me!

Any suggestions out there???

Thanks

Sounds great! I got the impression that she took one set of classes and you were done. More classes is better =)
Re: being bitey. We've used: making our hands into fists (not to threaten, just so Buddy can't get our fingers) and moving them out of his reach, saying "Don't" and turning away from him very deliberately so that he learns that that behavior takes our attention away. Sometimes you have to keep your attention away for at least a minute. Then offer your hand again: if she licks it, then praise her; if she's bitey, repeat the process. It takes some time, but it worked with Buddy. Good luck! Also, on the The Goldendoodle and Labradoodle Owner's website there are good training tips from a few different trainers.

Joy, I agree! Crossing our arms over our chest and looking away worked for us.
Thanks Joy. They are certainly a different type of dog. Good thing we love them so
much- it carries us through!
Added note: What I meant when I said, 'I'm so good to her' was that she has a lot of activities so she's
not "acting" up out of boredom! Last night she had the "zoomies" and my husband laughingly said,
'That dog has serious issues'...
She was just being her puppy-self...
Zoomies, cute! - that's what we call "crazy dog" and it's in every dog. Our corgi/shepard, Marge did the crazy dog (the love of running) even the day before she passed. I wish I had the love for running too! :)

Lucky at 6 months is going through her "digger" phase. Maple passed through it quickly at that age but I think Lucky's going to bring down our apple tree! Anyone know of a deterrent other than an unsightly fence to keep her away? Bitter Apple by the gallon?!!!
We should have named them all "Digger". What do they think is under that
grass, anyway? If anyone comes up with a solution to this, please let
me know as I'll soon be training "Digger Doodle" into the invisible fence
soon. Let's hope she doesn't dig THAT up!
