Unfortunately, I am going to have to board Oakley (aussiedoodle) for one/two nights in August for an out of town wedding.  I have been researching several facilities other pet owners have recommended but have not been thrilled with any so far.  Any experiences from others would be most helpful...thanks!

I'm lucky that my Vet does boarding - Disputanta Animal Hospital (on Rt 460 in Disputanta). They also have a doggie day care so during the day they have the dogs out of their kennels playing with the day-care dogs. And, if something happens they're right there at the vet's office.(and the big plus is I'm really happy with these Vets - they even make house calls!)
I've also used Brandywine Kennels before with no problems. Very nice inside/outside runs with a big play area, and very nice attendants. They're out on Halifax Road, on the west side of Petersburg. These places might not be convenient to you depending on where you live.
Thank you Deb, for your recommendations! Unfortunately, I live in the Glen Allen/Short Pump area of Richmond and will be heading in the opposite direction from Petersburg that day. Thank you again for your help. I will keep looking..
We're very picky on where we board Kaiya. When we have boarded her, we went to the Dude Ranch Pet Resort in Glen Allen. They're out a little ways on Staples Mill Rd towards Hanover County. GRAD had a doodle outing to the Dude Ranch last year. http://www.duderanchpetresort.com

Kaiya seemed to like it. When they brought her out to us, Kaiya was still trying to play with the staff. So apparently, she had a good time.

If you go to redplum.com and search for Dude Ranch, I think they have some coupons. They usually come in the coupons in the Red Plum coupon flyer in the mail.

Thanks for your recommendations about Dude Ranch...I will check them out! Kaiya is real cute with her packs!! What kind of doodle is she and how much does she weigh? Thanks again...
Kaiya is a F1B mini-labradodle from Gleneden in Berryville, VA (http://www.labradoodles.com). Her father was a mini-poodle and her mother was a F1 (50/50) full-size labradoodle. She's almost 2 years old and is 30 lbs.

Hi Keiko,
I've always had good luck with the folks at Four Paws Pet Resort, John and his team do a great job.
There facility is outstanding and they love what they do lots of outdoor time as well as a team memeber
that stays over night. They have two locations Ash;and and Southside at Hull and Courthouse hope this
gives you a couple more options
