Oh! I loved The Help, as well!! What a great story. I just fell in love with the characters. I was sorry for the book to end!
I am reading "The Help" now. I read over half of it on a recent overseas flight. In one day - can't put it down!
I just finished "The Help" today....awesome, thought provoking book. Being a child of the 60's living in the North and now being a resident of the South for the past 14 years this book really stirred me. Amazing read!
I haven't read his but it's on the list.
I just read it too and posted the other day. It turned me into a real mean lady. I did not want anyone talking to me or bothering me until I finished this book.
Thanks for the review on "The Help", I thought the movie looked interesting, didn't know there was a book. I just finished "The Last Song" and "the Choice" by Nicholas Sparks. I love his books, have read all of them. The only one I didn't thrill over is "Three Weeks with My Brother". I bought "Water For Elephants" by Sare Gruen but haven't read it yet.
I just finished The Help as well... so good!! I cant wait to go see the movie!!
"Saving Gracie" by Carol Bradley. The true story of how one little dog learned to love and trust after living 6 years as a breeding dog in a PA mill. Heart-wrenching and uplifting at the same time, this is an absolute must-read for anyone who claims to love dogs, and for anyone who still wonders what constitiutes a puppy mill or where those doggies in the window come from. If I could force everyone in North America to read one book before they buy a dog, this would be the one.
Yes. I want to read it too. It will be my next book as well.
This just went on my list!
My list too!
"Whale Done!" This is a book about how to motivate anyone / any animal by creating positive trusting relationships and power of positive affirmations. It is based on how "Seaworld" trained Killer Whales to do the tricks by building the positive relationships. ( We won't talk about the recent accident...) It was suggested reading from Charlie's trainer, but it even talks about relationship management with your family and at work. I tried the technique with my 16 year old son, and told him that I appreciated him doing the dishes and it was such a help, instead of pointing out the things he did wrong ( ie he did not wipe the counter top, etc...) He was much open through out the evening and ended up doing pots and pans by the end of the evening!!
