Last weekend Chewie had diarhea and some vomitting.  I put him on a bland diet (he ate very little)and gave him some pepto until I could get him to the vet on Monday.  The vet gave him a shot for the nausea and then some pepcid and metrocycline(?) antibiotic drug for giardia.  I am at work and don't have the med name with me. The last time he had diarhea and vomitting was Sunday evening (pumpkin orange all over my beige carpet!!)  He has not thrown up and just peeing since then.  No bowel movements.  He is acting fine just a little tired.  Is this normal since he really hasn't eaten much.  Maybe 2 cups in the last 2 days.  I know if I call the vet they are going to want me to bring him in and that is fine if he needs to be seen, but is this normal for the small amount of food he has consumed?  Thanks

I don't know. It takes time to heal--poor little guy.

All I can think of is if I had giardia ( basically pooped my guts clean ) and was sick to my stomach vomiting, even after a few days I would not be in the mood to eat and would have nothing in my bowels to poop out.

My son had it at 4 years old. He was so sick but the medicine made him sicker for a few days--then all was well. Give him some time unless you feel " Something is just not right "
That's what I am thinking. I know how I feel when I have had the stomach flu :(
Yes, this is normal. When Taquito (my chihuahua) goes through bouts of no eating, he may go two days without a poop. Give it one more day. I agree with Joanne - if you still have the "something's not right" feeling, go back in.
We used to have to give Allie the Metronidazole for diarrhea all the time before we switched her food, and when we did, she wouldn't poop for 2 days. We were alarmed at first - but came to expect it, it's normal!
Thanks for the responses! He finally pooped today and it was solid and outside!! Yay !!
