for the past two weeks..emma has not been really eager to eat her food at mealtimes. she still does take it as treats though. at first, i though tit was the teething that was bothering her. But, yesterday she puked not so long after her breakfast. my sister found there was soil in the vomitus. and then today she did not touch her breakfast or lunch. it's around 32 C in vancouver bc right now. so i hosed her down to see if that helps. i guess just to make sure she is drinking enough if it is dehydration .

what doyou guys think?

Emma's tummy may just have been upset because she was outside eating and rooting around in the dirt. Was the vomit just regurgitated food (still looked like whole kibble), or was it many hours after eating and partially digested?
Also, is Emma an inside dog or an outside dog?
Hi minga,
i was at work when my sister texted me about this. she told me she found the vomit to be clear and there was some soil and tinge of blood. so she thinks the blood is from her teething and the soil..cus she played with soil .
she was fed at around 0730am and my sister found her vomitus on the floor arund 9am. It's so difficult to have otehr people to supervise her at all times like how i do it. .
emma is an inside dog. i tell everyone to bring emma out with a training lead to potty ..or else she will go chew on whatever she will find.
Sounds to me like the vomiting was from the soil consumption. They do have some blood in their mouths a lot at this stage due to the teething. And she is probably chewing on all sorts of things that feel good on her gums. It probably is not the heat, dogs don't usually vomit from heat. If it is not a frequent thing, I wouldn't worry too much about it, as some dogs are just prone to throwing up every now and then. If it becomes more frequent and she starts acting like she doesn't feel like her usual self, then it's time to go to the vet.

If the blood is a dark black color in the vomit, then that is worrisome. If it was bright red there is a good chance it is just from the teething.
