HARNESS An Insecure Dog

Yesterday I came across some really nice velcro harnesses online. I'll search and post the pictures as soon as I can.
HARNESS An Insecure Dog
Starlit is shy and nervous in most new circumstances and with all unfamiliar
humans.
It is common modern day practice to swaddle infants. It helps them settle and sooth them when irritable. This weekend we were
told it was also good to swaddle a shy insecure dog.
Starlit saw a trainer and the first thing she said was, " Ahh, good. A harness
is a good thing for this insecure girl to help her feel safe." I
actually have to agree.
So just a bit of information to all of you who are dealing with or will deal with a dog who really just needs
hugs all the time :)

This is a great tip. Max is a reactive dog. Although not aggressive, he is easily stimulated and heightens almost all emotions. Recently, I purchased a no pull harness and a training lead (2 feet). What a difference. Before, if I took Max somewhere new, like most recently a plant nursery, he would yank and pull with excitement and anxiety. With the harness on, he sits by my side - only slightly anxious at moments.

Yes, this is a great idea and I too think it works. I don't use one like the above pictures but do use a Gentle Walker.
I also think, just in case she spooks and panics, there is less chance she could pull out of a regular collar and then that would be tragic.
She also LIKES it with the harness on. :) -
