Essentially you buy a 'stuff sack' that you fill with old towels, bed stuffing, clothes--whatever...and you cover it with one of their pretty duvets and it's ALL then washable!
We talked about this in the Do-It-Yourself Group, and the possibility of making your own. It's really just a duvet for dogs, lol.
I like the idea, because Jack's bedding has to be washed frequently, and it's much easier to wash a duvet than a full comforter, or in this case, dog bed.
Here's the discussion: Dog Bed Duvet Cover
:P -- I can't sew to save my life...so that's probably why I don't read that group =) LOL
There won't be any "doing it myself" for something like this. I'm hopelessly UNhandy.
I wondered if it wouldnt get really lumpy using clothes etc? Otherwise..the idea of just a duvet..like a slipcover over any purchased dog bed would work great! I am a quilter..so I can sew..am going to look at my fabric stash now! lol
I use a twin size comforter folded twice on top of a flat rectangular fleece dog bed...so I was thinking the comforter could just go inside one of these. It would be a lot faster to wash & dry the cover than the whole comforter, and it wouldn't take up the whole load, either.
Seems like it would be a good idea, but if you have a puppy and he pees on it, you have to wash everything.....that would be a lot of work.....I'd rather just buy the 20.00 dog beds from Costco.
