Flint River Fish and Chips

Interested in finding if any members have tried this brand food; it is supposedy high quality.

Their fish and chips is trout and sweet potatoes. Thanks. Cooper is losing interest in his raw food and basmati rice which I make regularly with vegetables.

It's very very low in protein, especially for a dog who has allergies; 21% is about as low as it gets, and that's including the plant proteins in the food, too. The ingredients in this formula look okay, but we need a disclaimer from the company that their fish meal is not preserved with ethoxyquin.
Flint River looks good on the distributors' websites, but it's really hard to get a handle on the company or products because this is another one that is sold through a multi-level marketing program, otherwise known as a "pyramid scheme". I personally don't like that. Part of your purchase price is for commissions, and the food is only available thru these independent distributors. There's a certain amount of "secrecy" involved that I don't like. It's really hard to even find the real website for the company itself, and once you do find it, they talk about "entrepreneurship"...not my main concern when choosing a pet food, lol. I have not read any independent reviews that rate the food highly...only those who are selling it. The few independent reviews i have seen rate it as a mediocre food.
But at any rate, regardless of the company or sales practices, I would like to see Cooper on a higher protein food; 21% protein may exacerbate his skin issues.

[Kooper Doodle]

I just saw this, but my Kooper (yes, Kooper with a K) has eaten Flint River since he was 9 weeks old, he is almost 2 years old now. We bounce back and forth between the Original Puppy and Adult Kibble and the Lamb, Millet and Rice. 

 

We have several other friends who feed their doodles and labs this brand. It's safe and has lots of the essential vitamins. 

 

Hope your Cooper has found the right food and snacks.
