Rosey may have Ear Infection

Yesterday I noticed Rosey's left ear was really dirty.  I normally check once a week and only clean them if I see dirty ears.  I haven't had to do it too often but yesterday I was shocked that she had a ton of g*** in her ear.  So of course, she HATES it, but I managed to get 3 cotton balls of it out.  Well today it was really dirty again!  So I got the cotton balls out and went searching for Rosey (she was hiding in the basement) and when I put the cotton ball in she was crying, I got some more out but I am afraid it may be infected?  Any thoughts before I take her to the vet?? Do ya'll think it's dirty or may be infected?   Are there any other signs of ear infection?

I use it before and after we go swimming. We also use Epi-Otic. The vet scolded me a few weeks ago saying only 1-2 times a week. It is strong and can really wear on the tissue inside the ear. I actually use it once a week or every ten days unless we swim or are having troubles.

Poor Rosey. Does her ear stink? Either way, Karen is right. Off to the vet with you!!! She needs some medication. Gracie had one a few months ago and hers was a yeast infection. Go get 'er done!

UPDATE, so Rosey DOES NOT have ear infection YAY!!! They think she may have just been having irritation from being groomed last week. The five cotton balls must have worked because they were raving actually how clean her ears looked. So just dirty ears was all it was:) But BANDIT is overweight:( He needs to lose a few pounds, so we are going to change him off of puppy food, and we have so much of it left... ugh. Will shelter's take opened bags of food?

I'm glad to hear Rosey doesn't have an infection; did the vet give you a cleaning solution?
An irritation from grooming is how some infections start, so I'm glad you took her in anyway. I hope you are, too, lol!

I am glad I took her. They said the cleaning product I used, made by Derma Pet, must have worked really well so recommended I keep using that. Now I will be posting another discussion on Bandit, he is having another issue entirely!
