Taylor, I think you just need to work on the lighting a little bit. You can do this by adjusting your shutter speed and check your meter reading. I just came from a class this morning where we worked on that exact thing. Your first photo is just a little too dark. You can always brighten it up in post processing (i.e, Photoshop, Elements, Aperture). The second one has a nice color but NO FACE!! WTD...we want faces!!! ha ha Third one I can't put a finger on it. I think you were focusing on the bee so the flowers are a bit out of focus. The color just bothers me and I really can't say why, especially since I have no idea what the flowers really look like. These are just very little picky things which most of us wouldn't even notice. Only because I just came from a class...I am trying to show off!!! tee hee Great work though!
I agree, Nancie. I want to see that Doodle's face. I like the ripples and reflections in the first photo....with a little more light it would be awesome.
Those are nice shots, Taylor! It's nice to have someone so young in our group. :)

I really like the pointers that Nancie gave you. Keep shooting and sharing your pix with us!
Of these three, I am most impressed with the bee in the flowers. I love the color of the flowers and the close-up detail. I also like the ducks but I would have liked them zoomed in just a tiny bit, but I am one who really likes close-ups. The doodle picture = I got what you were trying to do, but I don't think you were as successful.
ncie gave you some good pointers. Come join our monthly assignments, we are all learning from them. There should be a Sept. very soon.
Hello Taylor,
Nice photos great to see you getting into photography as such a young age.

A tip Ann gave me when adding photos was to use the button shown in the photo. Links the photo in the thread so you do not have to click on them to open them. Also if you include some of your settings it can help in determining what is right or wrong in a photo such as shutter speed, aperture and ISO.

Thanks so much for all your criticism!:)
No, not criticism! Just suggestions. Each of us knows a little something and put all of the suggestions together we usually can get one good photo. It is all trial and error. Believe it or not, any one of us who has a little more experience than others can take 100 photos and maybe only get 4 or 5 good ones out of the entire batch. It is that one "amazing" photo that makes it all worth while. That is the fun thing about digital photography. You can take hundreds of photos in a row to get that one special one! I have only finally had my "ah ha" moment in the last few months when it comes to Aperture and Shutter Speed, ISO, White Balance and Metering. It has taken me probably 10 years to finally decide to get off the AUTO setting and go to Manual! In fact, I have only been using that setting for the last month. I have learned so much from all the DoodleKissers in the group!!! Don't ever be afraid to ask a question or post a picture. We are all here to help and support each other...WELCOME to the group!!
