I am afraid that I might become bothersome to all you here in the photography group. If I do, just tell me. I took some pictures yesterday and I love hearing your suggestions. I wanted to show you all and see
what you think.

Hi there, I am new here as well. I love, love, love taking pictures. My kids are usually my subjects... but I also really like scenic views, flowers and butterflies. I have often said to my husband I would be happy if I could just get the picture I see possible in my head. One of my goals in life is to learn how to use my camera to capture the picture I see possible in my minds eye. I would also like to learn photoshop... not to replace photography skills, but to add polish to pictures.

Oh wow Heather, those are beautiful. I (we) would love it if you could post the settings as well if you can remember them. I would love to know how you took the baby's eye. What lens, aperture, shutter speed, ISO, etc. Also the sunset. I am getting ready to do some close ups of my neighbors 2 week old baby and could use some advice...you are off to a very good start for sure!! Oh..by the way...very cute kids and baby. Are they all yours?

Nancie, I will look and see if the setting info is saved in Lightroom.. It's been a LONG time since I took the pictures of the her as a baby - she's 3.5 now. All of the children are mine. I have two boys and one girl.. due with another boy in Nov.

I love taking pictures of my kids, its harder and harder to get great shots though -- it seems like lately I am happy to just have everyone looking in the right direction. Hah.

I love macro pictures of babies. I have a picture of my daughters feet - my husband holding her feet.. and its been one of my favorite pictures. I love baby feet.

My best friend had twins in March -- so I took some pictures of them. Like I said.. I love baby feet!

Explanations: First and Second picture, my daughter sitting on her changing table about 4 months old. I liked the way the light was coming in through the blinds and took some pictures.

Third and Fourth picture a couple of the butterfly pictures I took at a Butterfly habitat in Colorado.

Fifth picture.. nothing has been done to this picture. This was taken out of the window of my car during the drive up to Colorado. There was a horrible grass fire that had turned the sky and gave everything an eerie glow as the sun set causing that smoky peach color.

Sixth just a random picture of two of my three kids.

Thank you. My daughter has the eyelashes that only little boys get - thick, long and dramatic. As to the butterflies.. I love butterflies. I've got a LOT of pictures of them and I've been considering framing them little black frames and hanging them on the walls kind of scattered around my kitchen... having that be my "theme" so to speak.
