Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Grayson is six months old now.  He is weighing in at 58 pounds.  He is tall (not sure of height) and has LONG legs.  His mom was an 85 pound golden retriever and his dad a 70 pound standard chocolate poodle.  I tried looking through the size posts but was having a hard time finding standard golden doodles sizes at his age.

I'm going to go way out on a limb here and say....BIG....VERY BIG!
My vet told me at about 3 months they can guess the dogs final weight. Much like a child's height (around age 2 you can get a pretty good guesstimate).. I've read that the Dam's weight factors more then the Sires. Dogs do grow the most rapidly the first 6 months, so I don't think he has a chance of doubling again or anything insane. :)

Mmm I am going to guess he will finish growing around 15 months, and weigh... Mmm... 75 - 80lbs.
I think that formula is Dog's weight @ 4months x 2 + 10lb to estimate the adult weight. Charlie was 22.3 lb @16 weeks, however she is only 43lb now @21 months. about 11lb shy of the estimate.
Did you check this chart? I found it to be pretty accurate....you need to have kept track of your puppy's growth though because basically you take their height/weight at 12 wks and multiply or something as I recall. It was quite accurate with our golden doodle Leo. He's now 65 pounds at 14 mos. Here's the link:

My vet says take four-month weight, double and add ten lbs. Let us know!
I think you've got a big one on your hands based on his six month weight, but one can never tell. I have a female labradoodle that had bigger parents than she is (40ish lbs) and never got to be more than 27lbs and weighed this at 6 months. However I have a male goldendoodle that has parents weighing in around 50lbs and now weighs 80lbs. Can't say I remember his 6month old weight, but he actually weighs more than the estimate using the 4 month weight xs2+10 so... it's really a crap shoot! I know you'll love him either way. Both big and small and everything in between they are worth their weight in gold!
BIG BIG BIG I would guess over 80 pounds.
