Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

In the last number of months a number of very active DK members have disappeared from our pages. I was beginning to think we had a DK serial killer. I wasn't particularly involved with any of them but I did wonder about them Some I have learned had family illnesses, others ?  I think people should check in once in a while to say hello, I'm OK  etc. Or tell someone else on DK to let us know. It's funny but I think we can become attached in some ways, and get to know folks we meet online daily. Obviously real life takes precedence. Any thoughts?

There are some I so much miss......

We could start a " Whatever Happened To......" discussion, or is this already what this is?
I guess in a way that's what this is but I am concerned about people's privacy. A simple explanation, if anyone knows it, OK for public viewing thing only would be acceptable I think. Or maybe we should just keep this general.
Well nobody has to say "Bob Bloboodle has cancer" or anything specific like that...but perhaps someone might know the person(s) you're wondering about and contact you privately about it (and I mean PM not page comment).
Good point. I guess we would have to say I'm wondering about x and then someone might contact us. For instance I'm wondering right now about Jane of Jane, Noah and Sherlock.
I noticed a couple months ago that Jane and Noah and Sherlock were missing. I sent her an e-mail but never heard anything back from her. I know that she had started back to school, but I'm sure she would check in occasionally .......
I miss Jane and the stories about her boys too!
PRIVACY--Hell, we know when these peoples dogs Poop. What the doodle is privacy around here?

Yea, seriously, I do understand.
Lately when I get a notification that someone new posted on what is actually an old post, I often send a how are you and is..... still doing that or did you ever solve or ... to them - and I usually get a reply so perhaps some members are still around, just not posting???
Could be but I've commented to a couple and not gotten responses.
I think people just drift away from forums like these, and I've been involved in forums since I was 12. A lot of people just...lose interest. New things in their lives begin to happen and they find less and less time to devote to the internet. They kind of fade to black. I've done it a couple of times myself.

Of course, when you do get attached to users -- whether has friend or a friendly stalker ;) -- it does make you wonder if anything happened to them...
I couldn't have said it better, Rachel. I have a life changing event happening very soon. I am going to be a first time grandma! My granddaughter is due Sept. 11th. I really enjoy DK and all of the great people I have met here.
I do know that I want to spend loads of time with my new grand baby but I don't want to loose track of my friends I've met..and haven't met yet...here on DK!
Oh, congratulations! My mother was thrilled when my brother became a daddy.

One way not to lose track of friends on here would be to create an incentive to keep coming back. I think we need baby and doodle pictures. If Mom doesn't want a doodle close to her baby, then just super impose it! ;)

Babies and Doodles...they bring out the smiles!
